Warmer Through Fellowship

All too often fellowship is something that we church people assumes happens in the church.  I have found that this assumption works well for some but leaves far too many outside of the friendships that are needed to graft a person into the body of Christ.  Here at First Presbyterian Church fellowship isn’t an accident it is one of the five purposes we organize ourselves around.  On this page you will find some of the things we do to make fellowship a priority but you will learn that fellowship is a part of nearly everything we do.

We intentionally get together to eat every time there are 5 Sundays in a month – we eat and we share our lives with one another – the meal is free the time is priceless!

We’ve rescheduled our church service so that we have worship first at 9:30 a.m. and Bible Study after a fellowship time.  We find that when we do this we aren’t rushing off to lunch and we stick around and visit each other – often you will see people sitting and praying, standing and talking, and rushing off to get some coffee.  It’s a special time and worth getting up early for!

Many of our “bible studies” are functionally fellowship and study groups commonly called “Small Groups”.  We’re not sure what their names should be but we have them and we learn about Jesus, Faith in God, and one another they meet at various times during the week and we hope you will take advantage of them more information can be found on the Calendar and the Discipleship Page.
